Professor Yong Wang is a doctoral supervisor and the director of the Institute of Catalysis at Zhejiang University. As the project leader, he has undertaken several research projects, including the National Key Research and Development Program as the chief scientist, multiple projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, and key projects of Zhejiang Province.
To date, Professor Wang has published over 160 SCI papers, with an average citation count of nearly 130 per paper. Among them, three papers have been cited over 1,000 times individually. He has also been granted more than 50 national invention patents and 5 patents in the United States.
Leading a research team, Professor Wang focuses on the innovation chain in the manufacturing of high-end fine chemicals. By integrating advanced nanocatalysis, process intensification technology, and the chemical industry, they have developed a series of novel catalytic technologies and green production system solutions with independent intellectual property rights and core competitiveness. Through collaborations with leading companies in the industry, they have jointly created several pioneering technologies in the vitamin and fragrance industries.
As the first author, Professor Wang has received numerous accolades, including the China Patent Gold Award, Excellence Award, the 9th China Catalysis Youth Award, the Hou Debang Chemical Technology Innovation Award, the "Special Award for Technological Invention" from the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association, as well as the "First Prize for Technological Invention" from Zhejiang Province.
